Newborn Essentials

Please keep in mind this list was made by someone who’s only been a mother for 5 weeks now LOL. With that said these things have made our lives a little better, easier and/or less stressful (all the things). I’ll try to keep this list updated as time goes on. Of course this isn’t everything but here are some highlights!

Coterie Diapers – After being in the NICU for 10 days, Baby Jack’s diaper rash was AWFUL. Literally his poor hiney! Sadly the hospital uses diapers that are ummm full of chemical and the bad stuff. Once we got home we switched over to Coterie and boom! Just like that the diaper rash went away overnight. Coterie Diapers are hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, cruelty free, 25% plant-based materials. They are also free of 200+ chemicals. You can use my code: LORE for 20% off your first order of $40 or more.

Tubby Todd All Over Ointment – Given Steve and I are Jack’s parents this means the little one is destined to have sensitive skin. We put this all over his dry and red spots which clears evrything right up! We do fragrance free in everything Tubby Todd.

Tubby Todd Diaper Paste – I’ve been using this since we got home and it is magic! It can be pricey for how often we’ve been applying though. Now we save for when he needs a little extra love. Using this vaseline the rest of the time.

Tubby Todd Bundle – This bundle has the ointments, diaper paste, hair/body wash and lotion.

Spatula – I had no idea how often we would be using this! Every registry must have.

Bathtub – Our bathtub is very very deep and none of the sinks in our house are large enough to fit one of those cute bathtubs! We had this bathtub to start but I had to get in with him every single time which was fun at first but then became a bit much. We opted for this counter bathtub to make things easy.

Changing Pad – A lot of people have the soft fabric changing pad but I’m so glad we went with this one (especially having a boy). I know I‘m still very new at this but the amount of times I have been peed on is laughable. This is so easy to wipe down as opposed to changing the sheets on the pad.

Diaper Pail – Must have of course. I just like the look of this one.

Humidifier – I did a little self experiment on accident. The nights that we didn’t have the humidifier going for him his poor little lips were slightly dryer and a little chapped. We now make it apart of our morning routine to refill!

Hair Brush – I love how soft this one is. We do every night after bathtime.

Dreamland Baby Swaddle – We tried to do the traditional swaddle for the first like 2 weeks and he broke out 9 times out of 10. I don’t know why it took us so long to break out the Dreamland Baby Sleep Swaddle. He falls asleep so much faster and stays asleep with no disruption! I would suggest getting 2 of these. Because you don’t want to be without when you need to wash it (they do take a little longer to dry) Use my code: MEGANANN for 15% off.

Gowns – I was always curious why so many people had a ton of baby gowns and now I know why. 1. They are precious looking 2. (and even more important that # 1) They make diaper changes SO much easier.

Burp Cloths – The most practical things are most often overlooked… at least by me LOL. We go through a ton of these a day. I will be ordering more. These are organic and the most practical. We also got these that are super cute!

Baby Monitor – Finally an app that is beating my Instagram screentime!

Bottles – Jack prefers these.

Bottle Wash – I didn’t have this until our night nurse recommended it. This has been a GAMECHANGER. It makes washing the bottle parts so much faster. We use it for my pumping parts too! I did not want a bottle sterliizer because they are so large and bulky. I can not have one more thing on our counter!

Bottle Warmer – This is Steve’s #1 item. Another thing I did not want on the counter but he loves it. We got this one and its gets the job done. Cheap, durable & basic.

BIBS Binkys – The only binkys he likes thus far.

Organic Gripe Water – For when he gets really fussy and makes those “gassy” faces.

Let me know if this was helpful to you! Enjoy xx.
